About R.JAYARAMAN

R Jayaraman, Registered Valuer under Wealth Tax (C-i /393/1997-98), born in Karur, Tamil Nadu State India, in the year 1954, to Vaidya Visharada S.V.Radhakrishna Sastrigal and Mrs R Maragadalakhmi. He hails from a renowned family of vedic and sanskrit scholars. He did his schooling in ER High School at Trichy and graduated in civil engineering from Regional Engineering College, Trichy in the year 1976.

He joined BHEL, Trichy as a site engineer in the construction of heavy engineering industrial structures at seamless steel tube project in 1977. Later went to Tamil Nadu Alkali & Chemicals Limited, Tutucorin as a junior engineer in 1979. As his position was for construction of housing project, he left and joined a civil construction firm as a resident engineer in the construction of chemical industries in and around Cuddalore and Pondicherry. And he started on his own as a civil engineering contractor and started constructing industrial structures.

Later in 1997, Mr B Kanakasabapathy introduced him in the valuation field. Joined Institution of Valuers, New Delhi. Became fellow member in Institution of Valuers, Chartered member in Institute of Engineers, and in The Indian Society for Technical Education. He started practicing in bank valuation and specialization in Tax valuations.

He has written many article in IOV Journals, and his article on Valuation of Mines won the bronze award in the year 2007. His articles in IOV journal include Valuation of Mines, Valuation of Cold Storage plants, and Industrial assets valuation.

He has published books on IBBI Exam Study materials and MCQs. His third book on Tax Valuation for Capital Gains will be released in June 2021 and the fourth Book on Tax Valuation on Cost of Construction will be released in July 2021.

As a faculty, he has participated in many seminars and presented articles in the seminars at Bangalore, Pune, Madurai, Pondicherry, and Trichy. He was one of the faculty in IBBI Mandatory Education Program, at Chennai, Madurai, Pondicherry, and Trichy. As a teacher and mentor in Continuing Education Program conducted by Mr B Kanakasabapathy, in Trichy both live programs and webinars for more than 85 times.

As Freemason for 30 years, served the society on various occasions for the needy. An Engineering Consultant for temples, Colleges, newspaper group and many industrial institutions.

Happily married to Mrs J Sumathi in 1979, with three children and six grandchildren.

This book written by Mr. R JAYARAMAN covers the basic topic of Capital Gains under section 50C in great detail including also some other important sections such as 43CA and 56(2) (X).
